摘要

本文意圖從運動媒體性別化再現運動員形象之偏好探究同志運動員出櫃困境，並以2012年倫敦奧運期間之性別新聞為借鏡。運動媒體與運動文化共同堆砌與再製運動中的性別規範，以此穩固男／女運動員之間的身體差異，並製造運動場域中對性別越界的恐懼與排斥，形塑具有恐同氛圍之環境。此外，運動員競技表現被視為國力展現，運動員身體便被視為國民集體認同想像與國家意識凝結的承載體，但同志卻被標籤化為「病態」、「不健康」的身體。因此，在運動員形象、國家形象與同志污名互斥及運動媒體長期操作運動員性別意識型態論述的歧見下，使同志運動員囹陷公開出櫃之困境。

This study examines how the gender preferences of sport media create a hostile environment for queer athletes to come out. In particular, we focus on the 2012 London Olympic news as an example. Sport media has a history of shaping and reinforcing specific gender ideals in sports. These ideals highlight the masculinity of male athletes and femininity of female athlete. Deviations from these ideals are often poorly accepted, leading to an exclusive and homophobic environment in sports. Gay athletes are then stigmatized as being ”ill' or ”unhealthy” which creates a hostile environment for disclosing their sexual preferences. This is worsened when athletes become representatives of a nation in international competitions with their personal identity tied to the image of their nation.
