撞球運動之自動計分系統研究

The Study of an Auto-Scoring System for Billiards Games

摘要


近年來,撞球活動在運動協會及社會人士的督促下快速發展,大專撞球委員會亦相繼成立,並將撞球推廣到校園內,同時國內撞球男女好手,亦屢屢在國際比賽成績名列前茅,因此撞球運動達到前所未有之熱潮。傳統上,撞球計分均採用人工方式,缺乏選手擊球時,球體落入球袋得分時之自動記錄方法,更無法提供賽後分析資料。因此,本研究採用RFID元件創意結合TCP/IP網際網路與紅外線感應等設備,透過UML分析技術,以C++程式開發主從式Client/Server架構,實作「9號球撞球即時計分(Tag)、分析(DB)、轉播(Webcam)系統」(9.Ball@RFID),可提供教練培訓選手擊球進袋之分析數據;或進一步作為擊球過程即時計分之用。經整體系統驗證後,進球辨識率(Reliability)平均達百分之96.47%,由於雛形系統開發成本低廉,故研究成果可供業者進一步將概念商品化之用。

Recently with the opening climate of Taiwanese society, the billiards sport has become more and more popular. Many billiards activities and clubs in colleges were encouraged by the billiards sports association and interested persons which further pushed the sport fast developing. Meanwhile as many men and women players won good prizes at international pool tournaments, the billiards sport has reached unprecedented boom in Taiwan. In tradition, the billiards game uses manual scoring that could neither record automatically as balls are hit into pocket nor provide backend analysis. Our system tapped on the RFID, Infrared sensing, TCP/IP networking and UML object-based analysis technologies. Using the client/server model and the C++ programming language, we designed and implemented the 9.Ball@RFID system which has the characteristics of instant recording (by tag sensors), analysis (of database), and broadcasting (via webcams). The system can be used in stroke analysis for athlete training or in auto scoring for live billiards games. After the system testing, the reliability has an acceptable level of 96.47% in identifying the billiards balls. As the prototype developing cost is low, it shall be a good model to billiards table manufacturers for future commercialization.
