Tuberculosis is a legally determined infectious disease in Taiwan. Patients with open pulmonary tuberculosis need to be admitted to a negative pressure ward in the early stage of hospitalization, and they need to be followed up with continuous care after discharge. Patients will face multiple physical comorbidities and psychological issues; therefore, patient-centered integrated care is required. The purpose of this article is to show how a negative pressure isolation ward head nurse with advanced practice nurse certification can use the ability of cross-team communication to construct an integrated care model for tuberculosis; apply her teaching ability to cultivate clinical nurses' caring skills and improve patients' knowledge of tuberculosis, and lead the team towards patient-centered care, and ultimately improve Tuberculosis cure rate up to 90.7%. It is hoped that through this article, advanced nurses can demonstrate their core competencies in the experience exchange of tuberculosis integrated care, and enhance their professional role of nursing.
