長期照護之照顧服務員情緒智慧與職業倦怠關聯性探討

The Study of the Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Burnout for Nurse Aids in Long-Term Care

摘要


本研究目的在探討長期照護之照顧服務員情緒智慧與職業倦怠的現況與相關性。採立意取樣,以7家中部地區長期照護之照顧服務人員共211位為研究樣本設計,研究工具為結構式問卷,內容包含基本資料、情緒智慧與職業倦怠描述量等三部分。結果顯示照顧服務員各情緒智慧層面的平均得分差異不大,但各職業倦怠層面的平均得分則以低落的個人成就感為最高。照顧服務員的情緒智慧在性別、專業資格、班別與機構類型有顯著性差異存在,職業倦怠則在專業資格、班別與機構類型有顯著差異。照顧服務員的情緒智慧,表現在隨案主生活起居照顧與在小型養護機構之服務員為較低落。照顧服務員之工作時間與服務機構類型,為影響情緒智慧的重要因子,照顧服務員的情緒智慧與職業倦怠,在本研究結果有顯著地負相關存在,即情緒智慧管理表現較高的照顧服務員,呈現相對較低度的職業倦怠。建議適當地安排照顧服務員班別工作時數,以提升情緒智慧管理,減少職業倦怠的發生。

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence and burnout for nurse aids in long-term care (LTC) facilities. Through purposive sampling, 211 nurse aids were recruited from seven LTC facilities in mid-Taiwan. The measurement was structural question which included emotional intelligence, burnout and Demographic data. The results showed that there was no appreciable distinction among each mean level of emotional intelligence subscales and the highest mean level on the subscale of burnout was ”lack of personal accomplishment”. Emotional intelligence has significant differences on the factors of gender, professional qualifications, work shifts and facility types. Burnout has significant differences on the factors of professional qualifications, work shifts and facility types. It had significantly lower mean levels of emotional intelligence on nurse aids in the smaller type of LTC facilities compared with others. On the meantime, the nurse aids who provide a whole day living care had significantly lower mean levels of emotional intelligence compared with other work shifts. Finally, the results indicate that the emotional intelligence has a negative association with burnout toward nurse aids in LTC. These findings suggest that to arrange appropriate work shift is a stepping-stone to promote emotional intelligence and reduce burnout on nurse aids in LTC.
