Levamisole-Induced Agranulocytosis Complicated with Deep Neck Infection
Levamisole引起之嗜中性球減少併發深頸部感染－少見的病例報告
摘要
Levamisole是一常用來治療皮膚疣的免疫調節劑，副作用通常輕微且不常發生。在此提出一案例報告，三十五歲男性服用levamisole三週後出現頸部腫脹併氣道壓迫至急診，血液報告為嗜中性球減少及血小板過低。經插管、停藥及治療後，嗜中性球的數量回升，頸部腫脹也改善並順利拔管。我們報告此一病例，以提醒在使用levamisole時，追蹤血液檢查的重要性。

Levamisole is an immunomodulating agent used in various types of disorders including warts. The adverse effects of levamisole are usually mild. We reported a 35-year-old man who had neutropenia and thrombocytopenia after taking levamisole for warts. He presented in the emergency department with a swollen neck and compromised airway. Endotracheal intubation was indicated. After discontinuation of levamisole, he received antibiotics and granulocyte colonizing stimulation factor treatment. His white blood cell count recovered on the 7(superscript th) day. We report the case to bring attention to a rare but life-threatening complication. Hematological follow-up is important when using levamisole.
