數位遊戲怪獸角色造型設計方法

A Method for Designing the Shape of Monsters in Digital Games

摘要


數位角色設計為動畫或數位遊戲產業中相當重要的研究領域,而怪獸角色的設計,在數位遊戲的應用上更為廣泛。本研究提出一套數位遊戲怪獸角色造形的設計方法,藉以輔助新進設計師提升其設計創造力。透過實驗研究之成效評估顯示,本研究所提出的設計方法確實能輔助部分受測者設計數位遊戲怪獸角色,並且提升受測者有關遊戲怪獸角色設計之「流暢力」、「變通力」、以及「精密力」。從研究中的專家審查更進一步發現,本研究之設計方法能夠有效提升受測者在其角色設計作品之「創新性」、「適用性」、以及「完整性」,這其中以提升受測者本身設計之「精密力」最為重要。

Digital character design is an important research area in the fields of computer animation and digital game. The design of monsters has also been largely applied to digital games. To enhance a designer's design creativity, this research proposed a method to design the shape of monsters in digital games, and the method was evaluated empirically. According to the study, the design method can actually assist some of the novice to design digital game monsters, and, by following this method in the design process can also increase the novice's design creativity, which includes design fluency, flexibility, and elaboration. Furthermore, from the results of expert's evaluation empirically, it is found that the proposed design method can also effectively improve the innovation, adaptability, and completeness in the novice's works, wherein, to improve design elaboration of novice will play the most important role.
