The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship among sport involvement, flow-experience and physical self-concept in table tennis athletes by structural equation modeling. The table tennis athletes for the year of 2011 from Taiwan were recruited as subjects. Each subject was asked to fill the questionnaires of sport involvement, flow-experience and physical self-concept. Total 265 valid questionnaires were collected, and examined by Pearson product-moment correlation and Structural Equation Modeling. The main findings were as follows: 1. Sport involvement was positively related to flow experience, and 2. Sport involvement was affected by flow experience and physical self-concept. These results indicate that flow experience played an intermediary role. The study concluded that increased sport participation could enhance flow experience of athletes, and consequently improved their physical self-concept. Our study findings suggest that sports team may necessary to enhance athletes' sport involvement so that positive flow experience would increase, which would benefit for physical self-concept.
