While educational evaluation has become more important in recent years, little is known about the development of and issues in regard to professional evaluation organizations in Taiwan. Several evaluation scholars illustrate the growing worldwide recognition of the importance of evaluation and its internationalization: including the expansion of evaluation activities in national, regional and local policy decision making; the potential growth of regional and national evaluation organizations; and the increasing national diversity. The study focuses on the developments, experiences, and events of professional evaluation organizations within international context. The inspiration of developments and experiences of professional organizations from this study will provide the useful information for future evaluation works. Furthermore, the study concludes with implications and suggestions for improving evaluation organization development in Taiwan.
