Disaster incidents are increasing. Disaster nursing education and training are necessary. Studies on disaster management and disaster nursing have shown that the aspects of prevention/mitigation and preparedness have been largely ignored. The following three areas should be addressed: 1) concepts of disaster medicine and disaster nursing; 2) disaster management principles; and 3) integrating the concept of disaster preparedness into the existing nursing education curriculum.
