病例報告:野生台灣長鬃山羊(Capricornis Swinhoei)感染疥癬蟎之首次報告

Case Report: The First Report of Mange Infestation in Wild Formosan Serows (Capricornis Swinhoel) in Taiwan

摘要


台灣長鬃山羊(Capricomis Swinhoei)為台灣特有種保育類野生動物,近年來於野外環境之研究觀察發現台灣長鬃山羊具有嚴重之皮膚病變並造成感染個體死亡,本文描述於高雄縣山區,二隻野生長鬃山羊之疥癬蟎感染病例,皮膚之病灶包含脫毛、嚴重皮膚鱗片化、硬痂皮與裂隙形成、後肢皮膚龜裂,皮膚病灶分佈於全身但以臉部、脅部、胸腹部、鼠蹊部及前後肢最為嚴重。經採集皮膚樣本進行實驗室檢查後,可見二種不同型態之疥癬蟎大量寄生,但未發現其他外寄生蟲或黴菌之感染。依其型態及分類學特徵鑑定分別為穿孔疥癬蟎(Sarcoptes scablel; Sarcoptidaee)及德州食皮疥癬蟎(Chorioptes texanus; Psoroptidae)。本文為台灣野生動物感染疥癬蟎之首次報告,其中食皮疥癬瞞屬更為台灣之首次發現,本文並探討長鬃山羊感染疥癬蟎之流行病學及其對族群可能造成之影響。

Formosan serow (Capricornis Swinhoei) is an endemic and protected species in Taiwan. Wild formosan serows with severe skin disease and caused mortality were reported by a number of field observations in the past few years. In this article, two cases of wild serow from Kaohsiung county that infestated with mange were described. The infestated skin lesions were characterized by alopecia, lichenification, accumulation of crust and fissuring, and skin laceration of the hind leg. Lesion distributions were mainly on the face, axilla, thorax, abdomen, perineum, and fore and hind legs. According to the taxonomic characters, Sarcoptes scabiei and Chorioptes texanus, were identified from the infestated skin samples. This is the first report of sarcoptic and chorioptic mange infestation in wildlife in Taiwan. The epidemiology and possible impact on the Formosan serow population were also discussed.
