摘要

隨著老年人口逐年增加，老人被虐待的事件不斷的發生及被揭露，因而老人受虐議題逐漸的被重視，由於老人虐待發生的原因及類型為多重且複雜的，不僅對老年人身心造成難以彌補的創傷，更會影響社會的和諧。國內外有關老人虐待的研究，國內卻無本土性的概念分析，增加臨床上判斷疑似個案時的困難。因此，本文運用Walker及Avant（2005）所提出的概念分析步驟，以2000年以後與老人虐待相關文章進行統整，歸納出不同層面的老人虐待定義性特徵。確認老人虐待之先決條件及造成的後果，列舉老人虐待的典型案例、邊緣案例及進行說明分析，並且敘述實證性參考指標，期望協助臨床人員對此概念更加了解。

Recent media reports concerning abuse of the elderly emphasized the importance of this issue with the increase in the population of the elderly. The possible etiologies associated with the abuse of the elderly are multifactorial and sophisticated. It is therefore not difficult for us to deduce the irreparable psychosomatic traumas on our geriatric population and the possible consequences of causing disequilibrium in the social harmony.In Taiwan, what we lack is locally conducted research studies concerning concept analysis on abuse of the elderly which complicates our clinical judgments in the actual diagnosis of suspicious clinical geriatric patient. Based on Walker and Avants (2005) proposal regarding steps of concept analysis on abuse of the elderly, we summarized published articles concerning abuse of the elderly. Via inductive reasoning, we came up with a definition for defining characteristics and all possible etiologies associated with the abuse of the elderly:1) the biophysical dimension: a person whose age is above 65 years or so, who became a victim of malicious violence conducted by another person resulting in physical injury2)The psychological dimension: the victim was attacked by the abuser under unequal attitude/behavior which resulted in the agonizing mood fluctuations or psychotic state in the elderly.The purpose of this study is to list the prerequisite criterias associated with abuse of the elderly, list the actual consequences and different impacts on our geriatric population, give both typical examples and borderline examples of abuse of the elderly and thorough discussions on each case respectively; empirical referents will also be defined in hope of clarifying associated knowledge concerning concept analysis for associated clinical staff members.
