Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the constraints of physical exercise (PE) participation of university staff and faculty members, considerations for planning PE initiatives, benefits of the PE promotion program launched by the researchers, and feasible strategies for assisting employees partaking in PE. Methods: The study involved 48 employees of Fu Jen Catholic University. Data were collected through their participating in 2 rounds of focus group interview and the study's PE promotion program. Results: The researchers found that (a) subjects reported having internal and structural constraints engaging in PE, (b) both an outside supporting system and personal motivation enhancers should be considered designing PE promotion campaigns, (c) benefits deriving from the study's PE promotion program included gaining proper concept, motions and skills being corrected and more effective approaches performing PE, and (d) careful selection of PE program contents and appropriate times to implement them was suggested to increase the likelihood for employees' PE participation.
