博物館與終身學習的推動:以國立自然科學博物館開放圖書室為例

Museum and the Promotion of the Life-long Learning: A Case Study of Opening the Library at the National Museum of Natural Science

摘要


時代遞嬗,現代人處於多元文化及浩瀚知識中,需要不斷學習新知與時並進,才能符合世界要求,博物館傳播知識訊息的教育功能因此愈形迫切與重要。利用圖書館、博物館等公共文化機構實施教育活動,是終身學習社會普遍的共識,博物館除了具有輔助學校教育的功能之外,最重要的還是提供終身學習的機會,而學習社會的要件在於豐富的學習資源,學習資源的多寡直接影響到學習機會與成效。體認到社會需求,國立自然科學博物館圖書室從專對館內同仁服務轉型為對外開放提供民眾自然科學資源的圖書館,戮力與母館共同推動終身學習,以增強其成效。

The age highly changes with plural cultures and vast knowledge and the contemporaries need to study the new knowledge constantly. It accords with the demand of the world to keep up with the changing times. Therefore, the education function of the museum becomes urgent and important. It is a common consensus in the society of the life-long learning to utilize such public cultural organizations as the libraries and museums to implement the educational activities. The most important function of museum is to offer the chance of lifelong learning besides the function of assisting school education. The abundance of learning resource is the backbone of the society of the life-long learning. The quality and quantity of the learning resources influence the learning opportunity and effect directly. By realizing the social demand, the library of the National Museum of Natural Science is transited from serving the researchers and the colleagues at the museum to the public and joined hands to promote the life-long learning with the museum by strengthening its effect.
