摘要

2001年9月11日伊斯蘭教激進團體蓋達組織對美國本土發動的恐怖攻擊事件，不但直接造成近3,000名無辜民眾的死亡，同時更嚴重衝擊美國的國土安全。此外，也因此次恐怖攻擊事件的影響，使國際社會開始嚴肅正視「恐怖主義」對國際安全環境帶來的衝擊與挑戰。本文透過文獻分析以研究與探討當代恐怖主義的定義、基本內涵、類型與行為模式等重要內容，並透過分析與了解當代恐怖活動事件的發展概況與趨勢，以及因恐怖活動而全球安全所造成的損失與危害等，以建立對恐怖主義有全般性與更深入的了解。

The association of radical Islamism Ai-Qeada carried out terroristic attacks in the U.S. soil on September 11, 2001. This event has not only caused serious fatalities of almost 3,000 innocent civilians, but also caused severe impacts on U.S. homeland defense. Also, the international community already turned attention to the challenges and threats caused by terrorism because of 9-11 attacking incidents. The purpose of this study is to explore the definitions, basic contents, types, and behavioral patterns of terrorism by conducting the method of documentary analysis. Furthermore, this article aims to establish comprehensive and farther understanding for terrorism through studying the evolution of modern terrorism, recent activities of terrorists, and damages and threats posed by terroristic attacks.
