跨院區生化檢驗之品質管理

Quality Management of Biochemical Laboratories among Different Branch Hospitals

摘要

Background and Purpose: The Taipei city hospital system consists of ten branch hospitals. The patients in these hospitals send their laboratory tests to various different branch laboratories. To ensure the quality and comparability of laboratory examination results between the different branch hospitals, we have established a standard operating procedure to control the quality and correlate the biochemical data from these branch laboratories. Methods: The TBA-FR200 system in central laboratory was used as a reference analyzer. The results of biochemical tests examined in each branch laboratory and the TBA-FR200 in the central laboratory were analyzed and correlations for each individual test established. We then developed an algorithm based on linear regression to adjust the data so that it was comparable with the results from the reference analyzer. This process is regularly and continuously monitored using a quality assurance meeting. Results: The biochemical laboratory results in the different branch laboratories showed high correlations with the reference analyzer results (r>0.95) and any bias was within an allowable range. All the biochemical tests could be standardized and normalized by re-adjusting the data relative to the reference analyzer using linear regression. Conclusion: When biochemical laboratory tests were performed in the various different laboratories, our biochemical laboratory quality management system was able to ensure that there was data comparability between the branch hospitals. This experience will be useful when carrying out future hospital integration and helps to improve patient care quality.
