林連玉〈吉隆八景詩〉釋義:兼論林連玉的詩藝風格

摘要


林連玉以其在馬來西亞華文教育建設上的領導貢獻受到無比尊崇,其精神人格引領著半個多世紀來的華文教育工作,馬來西亞華人推尊為「族魂」。林連玉的舊體詩創作數量不多,收錄《連玉詩存》的共有50題,近年陸續又發現佚詩10餘題。歷來對於林連玉的研究多著重於他的事業與思想,從未有對其詩歌特點的探討。近年陸續發現一些林連玉佚詩,本文首度對外公布的〈吉隆八景詩〉即其中之一。本文以此為切入,並且是歷來第一次系統地探討林連玉舊體詩的藝術風格。最後,在對此藝術風格的詮釋下,重點解析〈吉隆八景詩〉,由「八景詩」的淵源入手,進而分說詩中所題詠的吉隆坡八個景點,以及林連玉在詩中表現出來的精神旨趣。

Lim Lian Geok's contribution in the development of Malaysian Chinese education was highly regarded, and his spirit and charisma has inspired the past more than half a century of Chinese education movements, hence Malaysian Chinese looked upon him as 'Spirit of Malaysian Chinese'. Lim's traditional poetry is limited in numbers, only 50 titles are compiled into Lianyu Shicun, in additional 10 odd more are found in recent years. Studies on Lim Lian Geok have been concentrated on his careers and philosophy, but never before on his poetic art. New poems have been found in recent years, the 'Kuala Lumpur Eight Scenes' poem discussed herein is one of them. For the first time ever, this paper analyses Lim's traditional poetry artistic style. And from this analysis, we stretch on to appreciate Lim's Kuala Lumpur Eight Scenes Poem, with a reference to the tradition of Eight Scenes Poems, henceforth introduces each scene and eventually manifesting Lim's emotions in these poems.
