This research consists of the definition of H/F centers, discussing the classifications of H/F centers and describing the history and development of domestic and foreign H/F centers industry. The definitions related to ”Health/Fitness Center (H/F Center)”, collected by this research, is the combination of health, sports, exercise, fitness and leisure. According to the features of domestic H/F Centers, we give the definition: ”An H/F Center is an institution to engage in making profit where membership only is majority. It provides the environments with fitness equipments and sets up professional instructors for teaching, guiding and consulting services.” The industrial analysis of this research consist membership and non-membership operating strategies. Finally the objective of the situation analysis of this study is to compare the management strategies of the Health/Fitness Centers in Taiwan, USA and other countries. The findings are expected as managerial references of the related business or government agencies associated with the Health/Fitness Centers in Taiwan.
