This pilot study examined the relationship between intrinsic-extrinsic orientation and religious affiliation, as well as intrinsic-extrinsic orientation and life satisfaction in young and older popular religious followers, Buddhists, Catholics and Protestants. Measures included Allport and Rose' (1967) Religious Orientation Inventory and the Satisfaction With Life Scale (Diener, Emmons, Larsen & Griffin, 1986). Results indicated that religious tradition and age were related to religious orientation, meanwhile, religious tradition, religious orientation were both related to life satisfaction positively.
