The global unemployment rates, subject to the financial storm, keep climbing. For the time being, there are a great number of job seekers. The research study regards the job applicants as research objects in an attempt to understand the influence their psychological biases have on their job-seeking behavior. The study then conducts analyses on demographics, psychological biases and job-seeking behavior. The results indicate that there is a significant difference between psychological biases and other variables, namely age, gender, education, and marriage. As for job seeking, the results of regression analysis indicate that the influence risk uncertainty, over-optimism, and herding behavior have on job-seeking behavior is positive. The study finds that the levels of risk uncertainty would influence one's judgment when he / she seeks a job. Even though the risk is high, job seekers are still willing to take a chance under adverse circumstances. The extent of over-optimism would influence one's judgment when he / she chooses a job. When people are receptive to any industries and have an optimistic attitude, it is easier for them to find a job. On the other hand, they tend to make reckless decisions and regret later. Job seekers are susceptible to their peers and environment, and tend to follow others' footsteps when looking for a job. The study attempts to understand the influence psychological biases have on job-seeking behavior, and the analysis results may be beneficial to job seekers.
