認知論觀點的哲學根源及心理研究現狀

Historical Debate and Current Research on Epistemological Beliefs

摘要


近年來心理學家日益關注人們的認知觀及其對學習的作用。本文回顧了認知論不同觀點的哲學背景及美國心理學界目前對認知論的研究狀況。哲學家和心理學家經過幾個世紀的爭鳴後達成的共識是,知識是學習者在社會的環境中共同建構起來的。文章並討論了通過改變人們的認知觀以促進學習的可能性。

Epistemological belief system and its effects on learning have drawn attention of educational researchers in recent years. The article reviewed the philosophical origin of the debate of the different epistemological belief systems and appraised the current research on epistemological beliefs. It is concluded that, after centuries of debate among philosophers and psychologists, a consensus of constructivism has been reached that knowledge is constructed by learners in social contexts. The article also discussed the potential of changing people's epistemological beliefs as means to enhance learning.
