This paper aims at exploring DPP's statements about the prospect of Taiwan. Cautiously scrutinizing the statements about Taiwan prospect from ”civilian self-determination of the prospect of Taiwan,” ”civilian self-determination of Taiwan-state building,” ”the sovereignty of Taiwan being de facto,” to ”enacting constitution through referendum and justifying the name of Taiwan-state,” it is found that Democratic Progress Party has strategically fine-tuned its statements in stages along the line of domestically political upheavals and international tensions so as to justify its party beliefs and seize the ruling power. This paper also ends with an expectation that the ruling party could seek consensus-building with the opposition parties about the prospect of Taiwan through mutually-trusted communications and dialogues, so that they can act together not only to stand against China's threats but also to persuade China understanding the importance of regional cooperation in the creation of Chinese well-being, upon the principle of respecting the sense of national dignity.
