運動場上的品德教育

Teaching Character through Sport

摘要


為增強運動教練與體育教師對於品德教育的概念,期望運動教練與體育教師能夠承擔部分教育下一代品德教育的任務,本文強調:一、運動場上品德教育的重要性;二、運動員的好壞品德特徵;三、品德教育的策略。傳授品德準則的六大策略,包括:創造有品德的團隊環境、示範品德行為、為好的行為樹立規章、解釋和討論品德行為、採用和傳授品德決策與激勵隊員發展品德。運動場上的品德教育需要營造,除運動技術與學業之外,運動教練與體育教師須將品德教育無時無刻地,掛在心上。運動場就是教室,運動教練與體育教師都是教育工作者,有好的運動教練與體育教師,才能教導出好的學生運動員。運動教練與體育教師需以身作則做好榜樣。

With a hope to persuade the coaches to take their responsibility on character education, reinforce the concept of character education, and finally to help the society to achieve a better character environment, the importance of character education, the appropriate and undesirable character traits, as well as desirable strategies are illustrated. The following six strategies of character education are: 1. create a moral team environment; 2. model moral behavior; 3. set rules for good behavior; 4. explain and discuss moral behavior; 5. use and teach ethical decision making, and 6. motivate players to develop good character. Good athletes derived from quality coaches, quality coaches construct an environment full of respect, responsibility, fairness, trustworthiness, caring, and citizenship. However, character does not come about automatically. On the other hand, it should be cultivated under meticulous work out and implementation. Coaches as well as physical educators should always keep character in mind and should make themselves to be model of their guided youngsters.
