The current study adopts the Technology-Acceptance Model (TAM model) to explore perceived usefulness and ease of use as well as the attitude of the elderly toward intended use of the Digital Smart Pill Box. With a purposeful and convenient sampling strategy, a survey was administered to elderly people in a rural area to collect their response and needs for the product. The results of this study show that users' perceived ease of use positively affects perceived usefulness and attitudes toward new technology, and the perceived usefulness positively affects their intention to use the smart pill box in future. Furthermore, this study explores the seniors' assessment of needs and importance of functions of the smart pill box and proposes suggestions for practical application and future studies of smart living technology.
