The purpose of this study was to explore whether demographic characteristics have an effect on the quality of life (QOL) of adults with severe visual impairments. A WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire was administered to 491 participants who are adults with severe visual impairments. The results showed that: (1) Scores were lower in women than in men. (2) Increased QOL was associated with the presence of employment status. Scores were lower in those working as a masseur than in those who did not work as a masseur. (3) In terms of the level of city, increased QOL was associated within municipalities (Taipei City and Kaohsiung City). (4) QOL scores declined with age in the psychological domain. (5) In terms of marital status, those who are unmarried/single and married/living together have better QOL than those who are divorced/separated and widow/widower. (6) QOL score increased with education level. (7) Individual monthly income and household monthly income have a positive association with QOL scores. (8) Scores were lower in adults with severe visual impairments than in adults.
