Objective: To review the pharmacological research of TMP (Ligustrazine, LT) in the role of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular. Methods: The relevant literature in the recent years is summarized. Results: TMP to expand cardiovascular, coronary endothelial protection, to promote metabolism of myocardial energy, calcium antagonism on platelet aggregation and thrombus formation. Blood vessels in the brain has significantly reduced cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury of vascular endothelial cells and leukocyte adhesion effect, to show protection on the hypoxic- ischemic brain injury in rats. TMP affect the ischemia-reperfusion of cerebrovascular in neuronal apoptosis and apoptosis-related gene regulation of Fos protein expression in brain tissue, c-jun protein expression and Bcl-2 protein expression of NOS changes. Conclusion: TMP has variety of pharmacological effects, widely used in the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease.
