摘要


世界衛生組織(WHO)於1948年對健康所做的定義為:健康不僅是沒有疾病或病痛,而且是個體在身體上、心理、社會的安適(well-being)之狀態。為促進健康及維持健康,瑜珈乃為國外常使用的身心靈療法,其透過體位法、呼吸與冥想等訓練,協助個人維持健康狀態、舒緩壓力、失眠以及沮喪等情緒、進而獲得精神上的愉悅,美國已逾一千五百萬人口採用瑜珈為健康活動,西方醫學亦將瑜珈列為是一種輔助替代療法(Complementary and Alternative Treatment)。近年來國內學習瑜珈者有增多之趨勢,且開始進行醫療實證研究,故本文透過文獻查證,收集瑜珈相關資料,詳加整理、分析及討論,內容包含瑜珈簡介、瑜珈對身心之影響、瑜珈與護理之相關實證研究,期許本文能提供促進健康措施之參考。

The World Health Organization (WHO) defined health in its broader sense in 1946 as ”a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” To promote health and maintain healthy, yoga is often used as the body, mind and spirit treatment method in foreign countries. Through asana, and breathing and meditation training to assist to maintain health, relieve stress, insomnia depression and other emotions, yoga can access to mental pleasure. There is more than fifteen million people use yoga for health activities in United States. Western medicine will use yoga as a complementary alternative therapy. In recent years, trend of yoga is spreading nationwide, and the medical empirical research is started. This article is conducted through the literature review, collecting yoga information, detailed collation, analysis and discussion. The contents include introduction to yoga; the impact on physical and mental health; Yoga and nursing-related empirical research. The author hopes this article can provide guidance of health promotion measures reference.
