本研究旨在探討應用條碼科技改善醫療檢體送檢流程作業之成效。採類實驗研究設計,以立意取樣在某醫學中心28個病房進行,分成實驗組(以檢體條碼追溯系統採檢)與對照組(常規作業採檢)各14個病房,並且比較兩組在檢體條碼追溯系統介入前十二個月及介入後十個月之退檢率、退檢原因改變及檢體動向追蹤。除此以外,針對護理人員和傳送人員進行系統使用者滿意度調查。研究工具包括退檢原因調查、檢體送檢流程滿意度及系統使用者滿意度。研究結果顯示檢體條碼追溯系統介入後之檢體總退件率由0.14%下降至0.05%。護理人員對檢體送檢流程滿意度上,「病人標籤貼檢體試管易出錯」分項達顯著差異。此實證研究結果可提供臨床條碼科技推展之參考,透過資訊整合臨床作業流程,以提昇醫療照護品質與病人安全。
The purpose of this study was to explore application of barcode technology to improve lab specimen testing process. This was a quasi-experimental research and purposive sampling at 28 in-patient nursing units in a medical center; 14 in the experimental group and another 14 in a control group. The experimental group used a barcode tracking system and the control group continued with routine process. Data was collected from 12 months prior to the study and from 10 months afterward. Data compared rejection rate, retired reason, specimen tracking trend, and satisfaction of system users from nurses and operators. Measurements included retired reason and a satisfaction questionnaire on specimen testing process from nurses who used the barcode tracking system. The rejection rate in the experimental group decreased from 0.14% to 0.05%. There were significant differences of nurses’ satisfaction on the specimen testing process and statement on "using stickers on the testing tube prone to cause errors." The results indicated that using barcode technology will improve quality of medical care, clinical information integration and patient safety.
