內政部統計處資料65歲以上老年人口佔國內13.3%,顯示國人老化指數較全球高出很多,逐漸邁進超高齡化社會。實證研究證實氣功可以改善老年人的身體健康狀態,包括情緒、焦慮、憂鬱、壓力、心肺功能、血糖、免疫能力及肌力等。氣功種類多具有高健康效益、低受傷風險。氣功著重調身、調息、調心,透過練功方式、呼吸、意念與專注的活動,整體通身一氣,使人體生理機制和神經系統的機能得到改善。中老年人可以依據身體的強弱、差異、疾病程度及年齡來選擇適合的氣功。建議可以選擇低強度、動靜合一的氣功類型和方式進行訓練。本文將透過彙整出的文獻,呈現中老年人多元身體活動方式的知識,進而提供醫護人員更多實證健康照護之參酌,以幫助規劃中老人長期身體訓練,使中老年人得以強健身心延緩老化、預防慢性疾病產生、促進整體生活品質。
The population of age 65 and older in Taiwan is 13.33%, getting close to the category of hyper-aged society. Empirical studies indicated that Qigong positively affect human body functions, including mood, anxiety, depression, stress, cardiopulmonary functions, blood sugar, immunity and the strength of the limbs. Some types of qigong practice may provide high benefits and low risk for injury. Individual may choose appropriate qigong exercise, based on disease, physical strength, and age. To improve physiological mechanisms and neurological functions in elders, the author recommended low-intensity, dynamic and static qigong exercise, such as breathing, meditation and concentration activities. This article provides a collation of the literature review on the knowledge and evidence of qigong exercises for elders. Healthcare providers may help elder patients to choose appropriate exercises to strengthen their body and mind, to slow down the aging, to prevent chronic diseases and to promote their quality of life.
