大專原住民護生之學習歷程、校園適應與文化調適之探討-以某多元族群技術學院為例

Exploration on Learning Process, Campus Adaptation and Culture Adjustment of College Nursing Aboriginal Students

摘要


台灣是個多元族群的社會,當世界各國投入多元文化教育的同時,我國的原住民教育也逐漸受到各界的關懷與討論。本研究主要目的在探討原住民學生在大專之學習歷程、校園適應與文化調適歷程。本研究採取發現式質性研究法,以立意取樣的方式進行「深度訪談」,訪談對象的選譯,是以某技術學院五專五年級學生爲對象,以半結構之「訪談指南」訪談八位原住民學生,並以質性方法分析所得資料。研究結果發現: 1.都市原住民進入大專後,其課業適應較部落原住民佳。 2.學校或帶實習老師對待學生的態度,影響原住民學生的學習與適應。 3.大專原住民護生畢業後,升學或就業之考量,經濟層面的問題佔有重要之影響。 4.在課業上表現佳的原住民學生,在自我概念與人際互動上,展現較佳的自信,也影響到對自己原住民身分的認同。 5.家庭的支持、多元族群的友誼、有熟識的老師等人際資源較多的學生,通常校園適應也較佳。 6.因政策的鼓勵,促使大專都市原住民學生,透過再學習以取得母語認證。 根據研究結果並提出對教育單位與原住民輔導之建議,以作爲學校、政府教育單位及諮商輔導界的參考。

For this research, eight aboriginal students majoring in nursing in a college were recruited to help gain an understanding of their educational learning processes, their adaptation to campus life, and their cultural adjustment to the school. In order to fulfill the aims of this research, in-depth interviews of the participants were conducted. The findings of the research are as follows: 1. Urban aboriginal students tend to have better academic performances than rural aboriginal students do. 2. Teachers' attitudes toward aboriginal students affect the students' studies and adaptation to the school. 3. Financial issues are a large factor when aboriginal students decide whether to pursue further education or to start working after completing the five-year associate-degree program. 4. Aboriginal students who have higher learning outcomes also show better performance in self-concepts, interpersonal interaction, and self-identity. 5. The more social resources the aboriginal students have received, such as support from their family, peers, and teachers, the better they adapt to the college. 6. Because of governmental policy, urban aboriginal students are encouraged to obtain native-language certificates. As a result of these findings, recommendations for college educators, administrators, and counselors are presented to improve their level of service to aboriginal students.
