A Study on J. Macmurray & F. Kirkpatrick’s Metaphysical Unity-pattern Community Model Theory and Its Use in Education

摘要


本研究以「社區與教育」的關聯為出發,從社會學的角度探討社區模式的概念與發展,及其在教育上之運用。J. Macmurray 的形上學強調在相互依賴的脈絡中,保有自我實現的自由意念,其統整社區模式啟發了F. Kirkpatrick。而Kirkpatrick 所發展的統整的社區模式,修正了原子的(atomistic) 與有機的(organic)社區模式理論的缺點,並試圖解決社區模式的功利主義與過度強調個人自由的缺失。藉著探討Macmurray 的形上學基礎與Kirkpatrick 的社區模式,及其在教育上的意涵與功能,本研究發現,Kirkpatrick 統整的社區模式是一種理想的「愛的社區」,能實踐道德教育或修正社區意識,並能作為可期待的良好社區模式。

By realizing that the community has association with education, this study aims to explore the concept and development of the community model as well as its use in education. J. Macmurray’s metaphysics emphasizes the maintenance of freedom of self-realization in the interdependent context, whose unity-pattern community model inspires F. Kirkpatrick. Kirkpatrick’s model modifies shortcomings of atomistic and organic community model theory, and attempts to resolve defects of utilitarianism and individualism. After exploring Macumurray’s metaphysical foundation and Kirpatrick’s community model as well as their meanings and functions in education, this study finds that Kirkpatrick’s community model can be looked forward to, since it is an ideal "community of love" and can not only practice the moral education but modify the sense of community
