摘要

本研究旨在研究本國上市、上櫃銀行於1997年至2003年從事購併前後活動經營績效之比較。為進行此一研究，選取銀行購併前三年和後三年之五大指標的十五個財務變數，並使用成對樣本T檢定，以驗證購併後經營績效是否改善。本研究結果顯示：主併銀行在購併前後之經營績效並無顯著不同，此外，雖購併活動後各年度經營績效大都比購併前差，然並無明顯證據支持，主併銀行購併後各三年與購併前經營績效有何差異。

This essay explores the business performances' difference between prior-merger and post-merger of acquiring banks. We select the fifteen variables from five financial indexes on the three years before and after acquiring banks go into a merger to examine the business performance of post-merger of acquiring banks through samples matched T test. Our findings indicate the business performance of post-merger of acquiring banks is not different significantly. We are also no evidences to support the business performances' difference between each year of post-merger and prior-merger of acquiring banks.
