This paper is a study of the pros and cons of Japanese Temporary and Agency Staff Law, so as to be a reference for future legislation in Taiwan. Since 1985, the Japanese Temporary and Agency Staff Law has been revised several times to be more flexible in relation to other laws. The result has been an increasing number of temporary and agency workers, more severe discrepancy between the rich and the poor, and even the failure of the ruling party in 2009 election. In this sense, the Temporary and Agency Staff Law is closely related to party politics and state stability-this no doubt invites serious attention. This sociological study advocates the need to incorporate the Japanese experience of the law with the present politico-economic situation as reference, to make the best decision in the future.
