從經濟因素看歐洲中世紀城市興起
The Rise of the Medieval Towns in Europe-A Focus on Economic Factor
摘要
由於歐洲中世紀的經濟復甦，促使中世紀歐洲城市興起，而城市中的生活景象及中產階級的對於封建社會的種種制度又有相當的影響。其中城市與市民原來都是封建社會的一部分，由於經濟發展，漸漸與封建社會制度漸行漸遠。無論在政治、經濟、社會與文化中，中世紀城市在封建社會中所扮演的角色與影響力是存在且重要的；此外，歐洲在邁向近代的過程中相當重要的文藝復興運動，也是由城市中發展出來的。因此，研究中世紀城市的興起是有其必要性的，吾人可以藉此了解歐洲由農業轉商業的經濟變動。筆者試圖在本文中分析各項可能引起城市興起的因素。從宗教、軍事防禦至政府政策，歸納出當中隱含的經濟活動對於城市興起的重要性。最後，筆者歸納出經濟因素為歐洲中世紀城市興起的主因，並以經濟層面作為總結。

The economic resurrection of medieval Europe brought up the revival of medieval cities. The life of burgers eventually shaped up the feudal system and its manorial economy. Thus, medieval cities played a dominant role in the transition medieval feudal society. In this article, the author intended to analysis the elements that brought up cities in Europe, such as religion, military defenses, and governmental policies, above all giving the economic activities as the most important factor in promoting the rise of cities.
