Irreducible Dorsal Dislocation of the First Metatarsophalangeal Joint: A Case Report

並列摘要

Dislocation of the first metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint is a rare injury. Successful closed reduction depends largely on the type of dislocation. For irreducible cases, most were dorsal dislocations and caused by entrapment of sesamoidal complexes in the first MTP joint. Open reduction is often required. Only a few cases were reported in the literature. This article presents a case of irreducible dorsal dislocation of the first MTP joint, in which the medial sesamoidal complex was incarcerated in the MTP joint. To our best of knowledge, there was no similar report before. One year later, the patient was asymptomatic and had full range of motion of the first MTP joint.
