This purpose of this study explored the relationship among the motivation, core character and civil engagement of college students for participating service-learning at 41 colleges and universities of technology in Taiwan. This data was obtained by questionnaire survey, with 1113 effective responses from participants. The results of this study show: (1) There is canonical correlation between the relationship of motivation and core character of college students for participating service-learning. (2)There is canonical correlation between the relationship of motivation and civil-engagement of college students for participating service-learning. (3) There is canonical correlation between the relationship of core character and civil engagement of college students for participating service-learning. Finally, based on the results of the research, some suggestions and future study are given.
