新節慶文化的符碼建構、傳播與疑義思考-以臺中市東勢區新丁粄、千金粄、桃粄名實為例

摘要


臺中市東勢區是臺灣大埔客聚居地,因位處大雪山林區,出入不易,不只聚落完整,且保存了更多客家傳統習俗文化。1999年遭921強震重創後,其傳統新丁粄活動在地方與官方刻意經營下,逐漸被形塑成東勢節慶文化的代表;然而十餘年下來,官方與民間對粄文化的認知,尤其在新丁粄、千金粄、桃粄等名實稱謂上,頗有差異;本文透過新丁粄節慶活動的觀察,與近年相關文獻資訊的參照,並走訪當地,考察從新丁粄到千金粄、桃粄等名物所指之變與其節慶文化之符碼意義,進而思考地方文化與庶民傳統,在公部門與學者介入及其傳播的過程中,其符碼建構與意義詮釋所可能產生的歷史失真與認知差異。

Dongshi, Taichung, an inhabitation place of Dapo people, located in the Daisetsuzan forest region in which people was not able to access easily, resulting in more reservations in Hakka traditional festival culture than those in other Taiwan Hakka area. After 921 earthquake in 1999, Hakka Hsinding-Ban activities, promoted deliberately by officials and local publics, become as paradigms of Dongshi Haka festival culture. Since then, from official and public prospects, the cognition on Ban culture, especial on nomination and representation of Hsinding-, Changin- and Tao-Ban, is quite ambiguous and different. In this paper, author observes the Shin Ding Ban Festival activities and reviews current Ban related literatures, as well as interviews residents and Ban makers in Dongshi district to explore the role-play of Ban in Hakka culture and Dongshi festival ceremony. Furthermore, by analyzing and speculating Dongshi domestic culture and ordinary people custom variations, causes of acknowledgement differentials and historical distortions of resulting from culture code construction and sense interpretation during several officials and scholar involvements as well as culture and customer spreading over period are interpreted.
