According to Indochina Energy (2013), Vietnam electricity industry is now dealing with shortfall in supply due to higher demand from retail and enterprise customers. It is also further explained by recovery in economy, leading to requirements from enterprises of which they need more electric to operate their manufacturing equipment. Furthermore, Vietnam is considered as the country that has high population, hence the electricity demand from local people is considered very high. The performance of this industry is being impacted by several factors such as very high increase in demand, maintaining good quality service in terms of the average number and duration of interruptions experienced by customers, voltage drop, and basic services provided to all customers most of the time (Nguyen, 2012). Furthermore, if electricity firms in Vietnam cannot power up their employees, the performance of employees will directly impact on performance of this sector, that further impact on performance of other economic sectors. In this context, the author would like to highlight the importance of employee motivation as key source of generating higher employee performance in organization. The study is to find how employee motivation is affected by antecedents, including leading, coaching, and motivating so that the director will have basis for implementing right decision to improve employee motivation at TQHC.
