The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among recreation motivation, involvement and benefits. Activity theory as a theoretical framework explains individuals' recreational benefits. A sample of the study was randomly selected 102 participants from Kaohsiung area. Data analysis revealed that there were significant positive relationships among recreation motivation, involvement and benefits. The results suggested that future researchers can apply qualitative or mix research methodologies to test and verify the relationships among variables.
