Training in interpersonal communication skills is essential in medical education. Creative teaching strategies are necessary in order to meet the unique needs for students from different generations. Teaching model involving scaffolding theory could help students to integrate knowledge and experiences from teachers, peers, and themselves. They can then further develop their own perspectives. This article will describe in detail how to apply scaffolding strategies in doctor-patient communication course. Hopefully, it can be a reference for faculty in the field of medical education.
