The purpose of this study is to probe into the effects of traditional weight training and complex training on volleyball players' muscular strength and split second power. The 36 participants with age ranged from 16 to 19, having the basic weight training of muscular strength, are members of the volleyball society Tung-Fang Institute of Technology. They are randomly assigned into 3 groups, control group (N=12), traditional weight training group (TWT, N=12), and complex weight training group (CWT, N=12). Participants of TWT and CWT are received the protest of full-squat, standing board jump and vertical jump-and-touch. After being trained for 8 weeks, the participants of TWT, CWT control group are received the posttest. Through the statistical analysis, the results indicate that after the 8 weeks of the training, the muscular strength and split second power of both TWT and CWT, contrasting to the control group, they reach the significant level (p<0.05). But on the part of the muscular power between TWT and CWT, these both do not reach the significant level yet (p>0.05), and on the part of split second power, CWT is better than TWT (p<0.05).
