The purpose of this study is to investigate leisure participation, work stress and physical and mental health of workers in steel industry. In this study, questionnaire survey method was used to study the southern steel industry: Yulian Iron and Steel / Zhonghong Iron and Steel and Shengyu Iron and Steel. A total of 450 valid questionnaires were received during December in 2018. The results reveal that there are differences on work stress, physical and mental health, leisure participation regarding respondents' gender, age, position, seniority and company. Furthermore, significant relationships are also found between work stress and physical and mental health, as well as work stress and leisure participation. Finally, managerial implications and suggestions for future research are proposed.
