Hymnology belongs to the emerging academic discipline in music-related fields. Researches and studies on hymnological contents have been carried out continuously for several decades. In order to understand the key of hymnological contents and teaching needs, scholars consider that their first priority is to re-conceptualize documentation. Established in 1959, the IAH conducts research into hymns and songs for Christian worship, hymn books, and everything connected with these, whether practical or theoretical. International, inter-denominational and inter-disciplinary study is the goal of the IAH. The first regional conference was held in Kronberg, Germany in 1986. Based on the conference theme "Hymnology as Academic Subject", regulations of institution system, teaching settings and contents, along with general learning and application after graduation, etc. were discussed. This paper focuses on the contents of this regional conference, and provides multiple perspectives for hymnological teachings by the supplements and analyses in German literature.
