This paper is to propose the viewpoint that the Chinese dialect Hakka originated from the language spoken by the She people after their assimilation with the Han people. The Hakka dialect, spoken around the south of Jiangxi, the north of Guangdong, and the west of Fujian nowadays, developed from the mixing She-Han (or She-Ke) language in earlier stage, while the Hakka dialect was assimilated with the Yue dialect thereafter and formed the so-called new Hakka dialect, spoken around Meizhou in the east of Guangdong nowadays. There are five sections in this paper: (1) Introduction (2) Coda structures in the Hakka spoken in Guangdong and the west of Fujian: surveying the ”She-Ke area” (the Hakka Spoken in the east of Guangdong), the ”Yao-Ke area” (the Hakka Spoken in the south of Guangdong), the ”Li-Ke area” (the Hakka Spoken in the south of Guangdong), and the ”Zhuang-Ke area” (the Hakka Spoken in the west of Guangdong), and the ”Yue-Ke area” (the Hakka Spoken in the middle of Guangdong), and also comparing the distribution of the place name ”She” (3) Assimilation of the Hakka spoken in Meixian to Yue dialect: the assimilation of the sub-initials to Yue dialect and the consistency of their codas (4) Inference of the origin and development (5) Concluding remarks
