Lone wolf-style terrorism has spread across the globe in recent years. Localized, small-size, and inexpensive, this new type of terrorism is difficult to prevent, but the nature of disaster it can cause is no less than organized terrorist incidents, therefore it deserves attention from the government and society. This article references the experience and practices recommended by scholars and U.S. counter-terrorism experts; the proposed preventive strategies include: determine the long-term political, economic and social aspects of the fundamental solution for the problem of lone wolf-type terrorism; in the short-term establish universal anti-terrorism awareness, strengthen intelligence gathering, investigation and prevention, eliminate sources of firearms and explosives, monitor activists on the extreme fringes of society and develop a robust counter-terrorism response system.
