The Taiwanese Opera had been on the-upgrade in 1910s. It was performed in Taiwanese and rapidly became the most popular throughout Taiwan, mean while it had drawn sterner criticism from the intellectuals. They called it a salacious drama, a bawdy play and a lascivious performance etc.. In 1926, someone made an appeal to the public for Taiwanese Opera and suggested that the intellectuals should gave it fair comments. After 1928, the stricture had been seen on the newspaper continually, but fair comments had been appearing increasingly. Until the troops of meeting a distinguished god invited Taiwanese Opera, and officers invited it for entertainment, we believe it would become more and more popular. While the member of the Cultural Promotion Committee had managed a Taiwanese Opera performance, the recognition of Taiwanese Opera by Taiwanese has be granted during the time of Japanese Occupation.
