The development of the internet has shortened the distance in the world and opened up multiple paths for learners to acquire knowledge. At present, digital learning in Taiwan is mainly based on one-way and pre-recorded courses. There is a lack of discussion and interaction among learners, and it is not designed for gifted education. The main purpose of this article is to explore the advantages and challenges of online learning. Gifted online courses provided by American universities were discussed to help readers to have a better understanding about online gifted education. In the end, we introduced English online co-learning groups that are gradually emerging in Taiwan. Cases sharing were included to investigate the possibility to enroll online co-learning groups as supplement for gifted education.
