This paper addresses the effects of coaches' leadership behavior on athletes' attitudestoward professional sports. In addition, relevant studies that concentrate on theconsequences of coaches' leadership behavior which lead to a high level of team performance are discussed. More specifically, dependent variables which were frequently used in the past decade include sport-related motivations, satisfaction, organizational commitment, and team climate and coherence. Based on this preliminary review, it has been argued that cultural differences should be taken into consideration in future studies. Specific directions for further studies are suggested.
