As an important indicator to test the changes in the labor supply, the labor force participation rate becomes a research emphasis for scholars in different countries.Based on the panel data of 30 provinces and cities between 1998 and 2013, this dissertation studies the influencing factors and the impact of China’s labor force participation rate under the country’s region by individual fixed effects model. The result shows that, for the whole country, the influencing factors are the level of economic development, unemployment rate, wage levels and industry structure. For the three sub-region of the eastern, central, western area, the correlations between factors and labor force participation rate are dissimilar.
