摘要

台灣俗諺，充滿了人生的智慧，它言簡意胲、言近旨遠，正確而深刻地反映了不同歷史階段或地區、族群的生活面貌，傳達了生活的經驗和智慧。換句話說，有些生活習慣、民間習俗即使已經從現實生活中消失了，而與它們有關的俗諺，則猶流傳在社會人士之中。因此，如果從歷史的角度去看待這些俗諺，它們是具有很高的史料價值，甚至是一種活化石。台灣漢人文化大多傳承自中國大陸閩南地區，相關的俗諺十分豐富，其來源很多，有些是從古籍上的格言轉變而來，有些是移民們由大陸原鄉輸入，經過三百多年的歷史演變，以及與外來文化的接觸，已有許多變遷，部份能適應台灣實際生活的需要而遺留下來，有的則新創。本文針對已逾適婚年齡之「獨身」者，探討其中蘊含的各種文化意涵。

Taiwanese sayings, known as proverbs, full of the wisdom of life, correctly and meaningfully reflect the different historic stages, geographical areas, and ethical life styles, to convey the experiences and wisdom in life. In other words, some habits, folk customs even though they have disappeared from real life, but the related proverbs are still circulating in the community. Therefore, if viewed from a historical perspective to these proverbs, which are high historical value, or even a living fossil.Most of Taiwan's Han Chinese culture inherited from the Chinese mainland southern region is very rich in proverbs related to its many sources, some of which are from the ancient books, some are immigrants from the mainland Aboriginal input, after 300 years of history evolution, as well as contact with the foreign culture; there are many changes. Some can be adopted with local Taiwanese real life styles and some are newly innovative.This article is about the ”Single” relationship for those people over the appropriate marriageable age, to discover the various cultural meanings within.
