視障者使用觸覺圖形來了解非語言溝通之資訊,需要運用觸摸式圖形介面,若是形態複雜、艱深難懂,對於視障者而言,非但是資訊傳遞失誤,更易造成視障者在觸摸板上迷失,進而形成時間的浪費。為改善這種缺失,如何以較佳的設計將物體形像轉換成平面的觸覺圖形便成為一個重要的議題。本研究考慮以「觸覺圖形複雜度」(複雜、簡單)、「大小比例」(放大、原寸、縮小)、與「表現模式」(貼圖、貼圖和線條、線條)等變因進行探討,並以實驗驗證方式尋找提高視障者觸摸績效的因素組合。結果顯示,各種不同大小的物體應該以不同的比例呈現於觸覺圖形之中,貼圖和線條(Texture Picture & Line Drawing)的混合表現模式較能被視障者正確地辨識;觸覺圖形複雜度與大小比例兩因素有顯著相關,圖形複雜度以及表現模式則無顯著相關,大小比例以及表現模式亦有顯著相關性。所以,整體而言,物體若是以縮小比例的方式呈現在觸摸圖形上,應該採用簡單的線條表現模式為設計原則,當物體是以放大比例的方式呈現在觸摸圖形上時,則應該採用複雜的混合表現模式作為設計原則。本研究成果可提供產品設計師在「為視障者而設計」的產品設計中,設置觸覺圖形的參考準則。
The tactile pictures were designed to translate non-verbal information to the blinds. The task could be failed on the complexity shapes of pictures or the vagueness of the interfaces, and that failure might caused the blinds misunderstanding the message brought from the pictures, what is more, the blinds would be lost on the touch. That brought an important issue of researching better designs for describing the drawing on the tactile pictures. This work considered the factor of Shape Complexity which had complex level and simple level, and Scale Proportion which had upsizing scale, relevance level and downsizing level, and Expression mode which had texture type, texture with line drawing type and line drawing type. After the experimental searching, a set of better combination of those factors was found, which supports product designers to design more efficiency products for the blinds. The results showed that different scale of pictures should be employed for different size of objects, and the TP+LD type of expression mode had the better results of recognition. Finally the relativity analysis of the three factors revealed that Shape Complexity related with the Scale Proportion, and the Scale Proportion also related with the factor of Expression mode, which meant tactile pictures for downsizing objects should employ simple line drawing pictures, while upsizing objects should using complex TP+LD type of pictures.
